As most of you know, that claim doesn't stand up. The first North American vehicle of this type was the 1961 Corvair 95 Greenbrier. I believe that Volkswagen introduced its Microbus in the 1950's - they probably deserve the credit for inventing the minivan. It's interesting that both early minivans were air-cooled, rear-engined, rear-wheel drive cars. |
